Getting Involved

How to Connect with Members

ARRM offers several ways for members and partners to connect in thoughtful, professional, and mission-aligned ways. The options below are designed to support meaningful engagement while respecting member preferences and ARRM’s Terms of Service.

Option 1: Use the ARRM Member Directory

The Member Directory is the primary way to identify and connect with ARRM members.

STEP 1

From the homepage, go to the About dropdown tab and click Directories.

STEP 2

Choose whether you would like to search at the organizational or individual level.

STEP 3

Use the available filters (such as organization name, service type, or location) to narrow your search.

STEP 4

Click Find Companies or Search to view results.

Option 2: Connect at ARRM Trainings and Events

ARRM events, trainings, conferences, and member gatherings are excellent opportunities to build relationships in person.

  • Network and connect at one of ARRM’s key events held throughout the year.

  • After an event, the ARRM Member Directory can be a helpful way to look up organizations or individuals you met and follow up using contact information they’ve chosen to share.

  • When ARRM staff are present, we’re happy to make in-person introductions to those in attendance.

Event-based connections are often the most natural and well-received.

Option 3: Share Information Through ARRM

If you would like ARRM to share information on your behalf with a specific organizational member, we can pass that along when appropriate.

  • ARRM can share information or resources with a member.

  • The recipient may choose whether to follow up.

  • This approach avoids pressure and respects member preferences.

Option 4: Connect Through ARRM Committees and Work Groups

ARRM committees and work groups are another meaningful way to connect with members by contributing your knowledge and learning alongside peers.

  • Participate in committees related to your expertise or interests.

  • Engage in discussions by sharing insights, asking questions, and collaborating on shared goals.

  • Build relationships organically through ongoing participation and shared work.

You can explore current opportunities on our Committees & Work Groups page. If you’d like help getting plugged in or have questions about where you might be a good fit, please contact info@arrm.org.

Important Reminder: Appropriate Use of Member Information

ARRM’s Member Directory and website tools are intended to support professional, mission-aligned connections.

As outlined in ARRM’s Terms of Service – Prohibition of Solicitation of Goods and Services (Effective May 1, 2021), member contact information may not be used for unauthorized solicitation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Promoting, offering, or advertising goods or services without prior written permission from ARRM

  • Sending unsolicited commercial emails or spam

  • Attempting to obtain sensitive information through deceptive or misleading outreach.

Authorized outreach (such as approved sponsorships, advertisements, or partnerships) must be expressly permitted by ARRM in writing.

Members are encouraged to use the directory thoughtfully and respectfully, allowing others to engage on their own terms.

For more information, visit the About tab and select Terms of Service: Solicitation to review ARRM’s terms. For questions or concerns, please contact info@arrm.org.

Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of our community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to our member services department via the Contact Us link on this site.

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the member services department. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violate these rules.

The Rules

  • Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
  • Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.
  • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
  • When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to reuse it.
  • Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."

Discussion Group Etiquette

  1. State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
  2. Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link in every message.
  3. Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.

ARRM Leadership Institute

The ARRM Leadership Institute, ALI, is a new training series for rising stars of Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) organizations. Developed by HCBS executives, program directors and training managers, this four-part program is designed to build the skills and knowledge necessary to become future leaders of the disability services world.

Q&A with DHS

These monthly calls offer members with the opportunity to interface directly with staff at DHS. Members can submit questions to questions@arrm.org to be answered on the call. Recordings from past calls are also available on the site.

Diving Deep on DWRS

The Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) is one of the most critical resources for providers of home and community based services in Minnesota because it breaks open the “black box” and reveals how service rates are determined. And yet it is often underutilized and perhaps not well understood by providers. This half-day seminar is held periodically throughout the year, and presents key milestones and definitions in the development of the DWRS, discuss the enabling legislation and evolution of the statute, and will walk participants through the nuts and bolts of how the system works.
